From the outset Stevens Martin Partnership has provided a Quantity Surveying service to building contractors. It's from this base that we've grown our buisness and it's through working with contractors on projects of varying sizes that we've developed a thorough understanding of build costs in general.
The following is a summary of the services we offer to contractors:
Tendering:
Because we are involved in tendering on a daily basis we are accutely aware of the current marketplace. This means we are very well possitioned to tender on your behalf in a way that presents you as competitive, yet ensures your costs are fully covered.
Our routine for tendering is as follows. We visit the site and meet the client if possible. We then compile your tender and invite you to go through it with us. We submit your tender on time and in a way that ensures notes, exclusions and provisional sums are clearly identified. When appropriate we then follow up tenders on your behalf.
Tender Negotiations:
With post-tender negotiations becomming more and more commonplace, you can count on our experience to ensure you don't negotiate away your margin in these instances. That's because no-one is better placed to understand what's included in a tender and the level of profit applicable to each element of the works than the people who put the tender together in the first place.
Contract Documents:
We review proposed contract documents on your behalf to ensure they represent an accurate reflection of the works tendered.
Interim Claims:
We will prepare your interim claims in line with the contract conditions. In doing so we will ensure that all interim claims are made on time and that all payments are made when due. And should any additional works - beyond the scope of works outlined in the contract - be undertaken, we will make sure you are adequately paid.
Final Account:
On the completion of a project we will submit your final account and handle any necessary negotiations on your behalf. We will also agree an appropriate date for the release of the final moiety of retention and we will submit a claim for that final payment when it's due.
